Quote of the Moment [20 May 2009]:
"Believe it or not, it is possible to have romance while keeping your pants on (though in this case it may or may not be necessary), if one takes the major revolutionary leap of assuming that deep, emotional relationships exist outside of sex. Especially if one takes the leap of assuming that two men can have an emotional relationship. Modern English and literary usage really has no term for that. Romance, however, is, fundamentally and at heart, a story which undertakes to convince you that these two characters will never fulfill their potential or achieve real happiness if they are apart."

Life, I like to think, is a journey to understand as much as we can about ourselves and our relationship to the world as a whole. What do I understand about myself? I'm a geek, a linguaphile. I'm an equal-opportunity 'shipper, a dreamer, a part-time artist, a lazy writer. I'm a fangirl, a grammar nut, and bothered by rigid definitions of god and gender and sexuality. For a long time I was never really comfortable with my body, but I've found someone who's been helping me with that. ♥
I'm a full-time public librarian, focused on periodicals and dabbling in YA.
Please be advised, if you friend me, that 1) I ramble a lot in my posts, 2) I use this as a dream journal, so you're liable to get some pretty weird stuff that way, and 3) I'm really an extremely sporadic commenter. It's mostly because I'm a horrible lurker, and also half the time I feel like I'm just repeating other commenters.
Just thought I'd give you advance warning.
